At a time when emergency and planned power outages have become commonplace for the community, generators at critical infrastructure facilities operate almost continuously. Due to the significant load, the equipment sometimes breaks down.
This is exactly what happened recently at the water intake facility on Gursky Street, where equipment failure left the facility temporarily without generator power.

The Integra Foundation’s representative office in Ukraine responded promptly to the request from the Trostyanets City Council. Today, a modern 48 kW generator was delivered to Trostyanets, which will ensure the uninterrupted operation of the water intake facility even during periods of prolonged power outages.
The initiative was made possible by the large-scale charity campaign “Teplo for Ukraine”, which was launched on January 23, 2026, on the initiative of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the largest Slovak fundraising platform Donio and ten leading public organizations in Slovakia.
According to Oleksiy Kolchanov, representative of the Integra Foundation in Ukraine, as of February 4, 2026, the campaign had raised nearly €970,000 from over 18,000 donors. Thanks to the active support of Slovak society, the funds raised are already being turned into concrete assistance for Ukrainian communities, including those in the Sumy region.
Mr. Oleksiy expressed his hope that the generator will allow the residents of Trostyanets to receive quality water supply services even in difficult conditions of energy instability.
During his visit to the community, Oleksiy Kolchanov met with Trostyanets Mayor Yuriy Bova. The community leader outlined the most pressing challenges: frequent and prolonged power outages, the need for additional power sources—generators, eco-flo, solar stations—for municipal institutions, schools, and kindergartens to strengthen energy independence.

The issue of support for internally displaced persons was raised separately. More than 2,300 displaced persons currently live in the Trostyanets community, some of whom reside in IDP centers. They need food and hygiene kits, as well as equipment for the centers and essential items.
The representative of the Integra Foundation in Ukraine expressed interest in these areas of assistance, assured his readiness to consider each request, and promised further comprehensive cooperation with the Trostyanets community.
The Trostyanets City Council expresses its sincere gratitude to the Integra Foundation’s representative office in Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic, the Donio platform, Slovak public organizations, and all caring donors who joined the “Teplo for Ukraine” campaign.
Your support is invaluable. Together, we are strengthening the energy independence and resilience of our Trostyanets community, even in the most difficult times!
