Silvi (Italian Republic) – a new international partnership of the Trostyanets hromada

The partnership between the Trostyanets City Territorial Hromada and the city of Silvi is the newest international partnership of the hromada and marks the beginning of a new direction of cooperation with the Italian Republic. The establishment of this cooperation became an important step in expanding Trostyanets’ international relations and creating new opportunities for community development.

The official start of cooperation was marked by the signing of a protocol of intentions between the two communities, confirming their mutual interest in long-term partnership and the implementation of joint initiatives. The foundation of this relationship is built on shared aspirations for development, exchange of experience, and support for European solidarity.

Priority areas of cooperation include support for children and youth, particularly through rehabilitation, recreation, educational, and cultural exchange programs. Special attention will be given to creating opportunities for rest, recovery, and rehabilitation for Ukrainian children living under wartime conditions.

Another important area of partnership development is sports cooperation. The communities are interested in organizing sports exchanges, strengthening cooperation between youth teams, supporting football traditions, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people.

Considerable potential for cooperation also exists in the field of tourism. Both cities possess a distinct historical identity, rich cultural heritage, and a strong commitment to developing their tourist appeal. Joint tourism projects, city promotion initiatives, and cultural diplomacy activities may become an important component of the partnership.

This partnership is especially valuable due to the many similarities between the communities, including active public life, attention to sports, respect for history, and a shared desire to create a modern and comfortable environment for residents.

The partnership between Trostyanets and Silvi represents a promising example of modern European intercommunity cooperation. It opens new opportunities for children, youth, sports, tourism, and international dialogue, while strengthening the international presence of the Trostyanets Hromada.
