Kashihara, Japan

Symbol of Ukrainian-Japanese Cooperation and Support

Communication between the Trostyanets City Territorial Hromada and the city of Kashihara became an important step in developing international cooperation between the community and Japan. Despite the long geographical distance, the partnership relations are actively developing and already have practical results in the fields of humanitarian aid, energy resilience, municipal infrastructure, and international dialogue.

A key role in the development of cooperation and support for the Trostyanets is played by the Japan PPP/PFI Association and its president Kazuo Ueda. Thanks to their active position, international contacts, and support, it became possible to establish communication between Japanese partners and the Trostyanets hromada, as well as to implement several important humanitarian initiatives.

The beginning of cooperation was established during online meetings between representatives of the Trostyanets City Council, the Kashihara city administration, diplomatic institutions, and Japanese partner organizations. The parties confirmed their intention to develop long-term partnership, exchange experience, and implement joint projects.

One of the first results of the cooperation was the transfer of inverter generators and voltage converters to the Trostyanets in order to provide stable electricity supply for social institutions, educational facilities, and critical infrastructure during constant threats to the energy system. The generators were transferred to educational institutions of the community and became an important part of energy security.

An important part of the support was also the transfer of a powerful loader truck for the needs of the municipal enterprise “Chyste Misto.” The vehicle was provided by TAKEEI CORPORATION as humanitarian assistance for the Trostyanets hromada. Today, the equipment is used for earthworks, transportation of materials, and elimination of the consequences of emergency situations.

An important area of cooperation concerns support for the medical sector. Thanks to the Japanese partners, the Trostyanets City Hospital received modern equipment for the intensive care unit, including anesthesia machines for surgical operations.

An important contribution to the development of the partnership is also made by Mayor Tadahiko Kameda, who consistently supports the development of Ukrainian-Japanese partnership and humanitarian initiatives for the Trostyanets hromada.

During the meetings, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of culture, education, infrastructure, community management, and investment attraction. Special attention was paid to studying Japanese experience in municipal management, technological development, and cultural heritage.

Kashihara is one of the important historical centers of Japan and is known as the birthplace of ancient Japanese statehood. The city combines rich historical heritage, cultural tourism, and a modern approach to community development. That is why cooperation between Trostyanets and Kashihara opens new opportunities not only for humanitarian support, but also for cultural exchange and the development of international dialogue.

Partnership relations between Trostyanets and Kashihara are an example of how international solidarity, mutual support, and a shared desire for development can unite communities from different countries even during the most difficult times.
