UAH 1.6 million saved in 2025 thanks to solar energy!
Trostyanets city hromada is actively implementing solar energy solutions by installing solar panels on the rooftops of medical facilities, educational institutions, administrative buildings, and other public facilities.
Since solar power plants generate electricity using sunlight, this significantly reduces electricity costs and, consequently, allows the community to save substantial budget funds while strengthening its energy independence.
Thanks to the operation of solar power plants, municipal institutions and facilities of the Trostyanets community generated 158.5 MWh of electricity.
This made it possible to save UAH 1.6 million of budget funds in 2025.
Detailed results of each solar power plant:
- Trostyanets City Council – 22,680 kWh
- Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Trostyanets City Hospital” – 105,250 kWh, including:
- former pediatric department building – 34,890 kWh
- inpatient building – 70,360 kWh
- Department of Education – 21,962 kWh, including:
- Municipal Preschool Institution (nursery-kindergarten) “Romashka” – 10,090 kWh
- Municipal Preschool Institution (nursery-kindergarten) “Kazka” – 11,080 kWh
- Municipal Preschool Institution (kindergarten) “Kalynka” (solar panels installed in September 2025) – 792 kWh
- IDP Center “Neskuchne”(solar panels installed in October 2025) – 4,790 kWh
- Hotel “Trostyanets” (solar panels installed on May 10, 2025) – 4,138 kWh

WHAT’S NEXT?
- In 2026, the installation of solar panels on community buildings and facilities will continue and intensify. This will significantly reduce electricity consumption and ease the burden on the city budget. The city’s strategic goal is a full transition to solar energy for all budgetary institutions in the coming years, which could save up to UAH 10 million annually.
- Another key objective is achieving full energy independence of the Trostyanets City Hospital, which still consumes traditional energy worth UAH 3.5 million annually. Additional solar power plants will allow the saved funds to be directed toward increasing doctors’ salaries.
- A further priority for 2026 is equipping the city’s water intake facilities with solar panels. This will ensure stable water supply and help reduce water tariffs for residents.
Trostyanets is confidently moving toward energy independence, and we sincerely thank every partner for contributing to the implementation of this program!
