Trostyanets city hromada continues to steadily strengthen its energy independence. At a time when the Russian enemy is striking energy infrastructure facilities daily, attempting to leave Ukrainians without light and heat, any assistance to support the stable operation of the power grid is extremely important.
Recently, the community received a large shipment of valuable energy equipment from Latvian donors—the Ziedot.lv Charitable Foundation. The aid included a loader, three power transformers, and generators of various capacities. Trostyanets Mayor Yuriy Bova personally received the valuable humanitarian shipment.
The three power transformers are particularly important for the community. They are planned to be used as backups—to replace equipment at substations in case of damage or to provide power to residential buildings or small industrial facilities.
“Today, it is crucial to ensure the stable operation of the power grid, as the energy sector is suffering significant losses due to daily shelling. We are sincerely grateful to the Latvian donors from the Ziedot.lv Charitable Foundation for these powerful transformers. They can be used to enhance the energy independence of sewage pumping stations and treatment facilities, or to repair substations in the event of damage,” noted the head of the Trostyanets community.
The community also received a powerful 300 kW generator mounted on a wheeled trailer. This mobility allows for quick delivery to critical infrastructure sites requiring emergency power, such as water intake facilities or other vital sites.

In addition, three 10-kW generators and two 5-kW generators were delivered. According to Andriy Samoday, director of the municipal enterprise “Trostyanetskomservice,” this equipment will be used to ensure the uninterrupted operation of water intake facilities in the villages of Buimer, Vyshneve, Stanova, and Kamianka. Thanks to this, residents of these settlements will be able to access water supply even during power outages.
The compact and maneuverable loader included in the aid shipment will also be a valuable asset for the municipal services. It will help municipal workers carry out various maintenance tasks, such as transporting cargo, unloading, and other necessary operations. Importantly, the loader runs on natural gas, which will result in significant savings on fuel costs.
The Trostyanets community sincerely thanks our Latvian friends and the benefactors from the https://www.ziedot.lv/ foundation for their support and solidarity with Ukraine during these difficult times. Such assistance not only strengthens the community’s energy resilience but also demonstrates true European unity and support for the Ukrainian people. We wish you peace, prosperity, and new good deeds!
For reference: Ziedot.lv is one of the largest charitable organizations in Latvia, founded in 2003, which acts as a bridge between those in need and those who want to help. The organization actively supports Ukrainian refugees in Latvia (medical care, social assistance) and raises funds to aid Ukraine.
