Yesterday, a practical test of the system was conducted in one of the community’s apartment buildings. The house’s power supply was temporarily disconnected from the external network and switched to power from a generator.
Residents were warned in advance about the tests. People were able to personally verify that the system was working: the apartments had light, and the house received power from a backup source.
Mayor Yuriy Bova personally arrived to check the system. He monitored the test run, talked to residents, and made sure that the equipment was functioning properly.
“We must be prepared for different scenarios. Our task is to do everything possible so that during possible long outages people can survive this period with the least discomfort. This is especially important for residents of high-rise buildings, where it is practically impossible to install their own generator,” – said mayor of Trostyanets municipality.
Backup power will allow residents to use electricity for the most necessary needs during periods of long outages: to recharge phones and other gadgets, heat their homes, use a washing machine and other electrical appliances.

Other apartment buildings in city have already been equipped with systems for connecting a mobile generator.
In the case of long power outages, a schedule will be formed according to which a car with a mobile generator will move between buildings. A powerful generator will provide each apartment building with electricity for several hours, after which it will go to the next building. Thus, one installation will be able to alternately maintain the power supply of several apartment buildings at once.

It is important that our hromada received this Mobile Generator with a capacity of 300 kW with the support of Latvian Ziedot.lv foundation. We sincerely thank our Latvian partners for their help, support and solidarity with Ukraine! It is thanks to international support that we have the opportunity to strengthen our energy resilience and prepare for difficult challenges.
