The public movement “Dobrobat” together with representatives of the State Emergency Service worked again in Trostyanets. This time, volunteers in the amount of 24 people were dismantling the rubble in the outpatient building of the Trostianets City Hospital.
“As a result of a direct hit by a shell, a hole was formed in the wall, the partitions between the offices on the first, second and third floors of the outpatient department were broken,” said Anatoliy Plakhtyrya, General Director “Trostianets City Hospital”, “all the windows were broken, most of the offices, furniture and medical equipment were destroyed. At the moment, the hole in the wall has already been patched up, but the hospital needs help in dismantling the rubble so that it can proceed with further repairs of the outpatient building.”
From the first days of work in Trostyanets, Dobrobat’s volunteers were amazed by the scale of the destruction caused by the Russian military in just a month of occupation. Therefore, volunteers come to the Trostyanets city hromada every day of their weekend, every free hour, to help its residents, clearing away the rubble of both private and multi-apartment buildings, as well as infrastructure and municipal property. The boys and girls work diligently, quickly, in unison, with jokes and smiles on their faces, everyone has not only met, but also made friends and become a close-knit and well-coordinated team.
“I work as a fitness trainer, so I don’t often get to join the volunteers, but every weekend I register and come to Trostyanets,” said Viktoriya from the city of Sumy, one of the most ardent volunteers of Dobrobat, “From the first day of the war, when my family and I left for Western Ukraine, and every day we saw terrible footage of the occupation of Trostyanets on the news, I decided for myself that when I return, I will definitely help rebuild everything. Trostyanets was so elegant, beautiful and picturesque, and after the war it will definitely become even better, and we will help with that!
