Trostyanets received humanitarian aid from Stichting “Hope4Ukraine” foundation from the Netherlands

The Kingdom of the Netherlands has been one of Ukraine’s most active partners since the first days of the full-scale invasion. The Trostyanets community has always felt strong support from friends, volunteers and partners from the Netherlands, who deliver humanitarian cargo to Trostyanets and help in the restoration of infrastructure, medicine, energy independence and the implementation of social projects.

On August 19, 2026, a truck with humanitarian cargo from the Netherlands arrived to Trostyanets from the charitable organization “Stichting Hope4Ukraine” (Foundation “Hope for Ukraine”). Having overcome three thousand kilometers at the wheel, the humanitarian cargo was delivered in its own truck by a representative of this organization, Scheepsma Wybren Iko, together with his wife, Brandsma Janke.
This married couple has been supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war, having made 12 trips to the front-line regions.

“We learned about Trostianets from our friend, journalist Patrick Haar, who covers the activities of our organization in the columns of newspapers”, – says Scheepsma Wybren Iko. “This is our second visit to your city. Just like Patrick, we root for Ukraine and sympathize with everyone who suffers because of the war. Trostianets pleasantly surprised with sincere, open people and charming nature”.

The benefactors delivered to Trostyanets two powerful generators, long-term storage products (cookies, drinks, instant food in airtight packaging), and medical supplies.

It is worth noting that the truck was filled with humanitarian cargo, which was intended not only for our community, but also for the front-line communities of southern Ukraine. So our Dutch friends set off further, receiving as a souvenir, along with words of gratitude, Ukrainian amulets, made by the teachers and club members of the Palace of Children and Youth.

On behalf of all residents of the community, the secretary of the city council, Nataliya Kovaleva, expressed sincere gratitude to the Dutch charitable organization “Stichting Hope4Ukraine” and its participants, Scheepsma Wybren Iko and Brandsma Janke spouses, as well as a long-time friend of our community, volunteer and military journalist Patrick Haar.

Thank you, dear partners, for your concern, commitment to common values, and significant personal contribution to achieving our victory and restoring peace!

Municipal web-portal "Global Trostyanets" of Trostyanets city hromada was founded in May 2026 as a quick response and gratitude to all our international partners who helped our hromada survive after the occupation in 2022 and develop today. To some extent, this is a unique web resource, which has no analogues in Ukraine.

Trostyanets is becoming an example of high-quality reconstruction and resilience. Financial support from the state and international partners has given us the chance to restore the housing stock, equip premises for the accommodation of displaced persons, create modern medical institutions, launch the educational process, revive and develop the municipal sphere.

Today we have already demonstrated that restoration is not only about rebuilding buildings. It is the path to a qualitatively new level of life for municipality! We have become an example for the country and a convincing signal for foreign donors: aid brings tangible changes.
