A pleasant gift for Trostyanets children and their parents was the grand opening of the first group in the kindergarten “Bilochka”, which was destroyed by enemy shells and looted by russian soldiers in March 2022.

The preschool educational institution “Bilochka” suffered the most during the occupation. Its restoration during the war requires enormous efforts from the authorities and philanthropists! But this kindergarten is needed because it covers children from the city center, B. Khmelnytskyi Street and other streets located nearby. A big advantage is that the kindergarten is surrounded by a pine forest and has a good layout of the premises.

Now the first floor of the kindergarten has been qualitatively restored and has all the amenities for the kids: a good repair in the group room and hall, a bathroom, a brand new kitchen with modern household appliances! The kindergarten is warm, it has a spacious and properly equipped shelter.

“The first step in the restoration of the “Bilochka” kindergarten has been taken! The renovation of the first floor has been completed, so far one group for 20 children has been opened. Repair work continues, they are carried out according to the principle: to do better than before. In 2024, we will open two more groups and the kindergarten will be able to attend at least 60 children”, – commented Yuriy Bova, the city mayor of Trostyanets.

During the enemy occupation, an enemy shell hit the “Bilochka” kindergarten, completely destroying the roof of the building. The interior, looted by the orcs, got wet from the rain and gradually collapsed. Therefore, the very first task was to overhaul the roof.

“These works were carried out thanks to the assistance of the Mondelez Ukraine factory and its partner, the Blagomay charitable foundation. The Czech company SIKA Ukraine provided us with roofing material. Huge gratitude to our partners for their cooperation, for taking care of the little Trostyanets!”, – said the mayor.

Addressing the parents at the grand opening of the kindergarten, Mayor Yuriy Bova separately noted the care and empathy of our Polish friends and partners from the sister city Gmina Kożuchów, who organized a charity auction to raise funds for the restoration of the kindergarten in Trostyanets at a charity event in one of their kindergartens.

He expressed gratitude to our long-time friends and benefactors from Germany, Ms. Sibilla Strak-Zimmermann and her husband Hans, who did not stand aside from this good deed and provided support in purchasing furniture. The charitable foundations “Dobrota” and “Krok za Krokom” helped restore the kindergarten. A good deed is being done through joint efforts for the benefit of Ukrainian children!

It is impossible not to mention that the staff of the kindergarten “Bilochka” tirelessly helped the builders every day. Carrying out internal finishing work, putting the premises in order. Mayor Yuriy Bova thanked the builders, the kindergarten staff led by the director Lyubov Zadesenets for their active work on the restoration of the kindergarten.

Municipal web-portal "Global Trostyanets" of Trostyanets city hromada was founded in May 2026 as a quick response and gratitude to all our international partners who helped our hromada survive after the occupation in 2022 and develop today. To some extent, this is a unique web resource, which has no analogues in Ukraine.

Trostyanets is becoming an example of high-quality reconstruction and resilience. Financial support from the state and international partners has given us the chance to restore the housing stock, equip premises for the accommodation of displaced persons, create modern medical institutions, launch the educational process, revive and develop the municipal sphere.

Today we have already demonstrated that restoration is not only about rebuilding buildings. It is the path to a qualitatively new level of life for municipality! We have become an example for the country and a convincing signal for foreign donors: aid brings tangible changes.
