Restoration of the roof of a village school.
The Soldatske Lyceum project in Trostianets meets the critical need for roof renovation of a school complex with preschool facilities and a maximum capacity of 250 students. In March 2022, the Lyceum suffered the impact of a Russian missile, destroying the roof of the main building and causing structural damage both internally and externally. The Lyceum serves not only as an educational center for Soldatske, but also for the surrounding villages. Without functioning school facilities, families with children in Soldatske and neighboring areas could not stay or return to their homes.
The local authorities recognized the urgency of the situation and prioritized the structural rehabilitation of the Soldatske Lyceum.

Target group and results:
The successful completion of the roof restoration and other structural repairs at the Soldatske Lyceum positions it to reopen its doors for the 2023-2024 school season. This milestone is extremely important because it will allow families and their children to remain in their homes or return to their homes. The Lyceum not only serves Soldatske, but also plays a crucial role in providing educational services to other surrounding villages in the Hromada Trostianets. Initially, about 100 schoolchildren are expected to return to school, and this number is expected to grow as internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees return to their homes in the Trostianets district. The restoration of the Soldatske Lyceum means the restoration of educational opportunities, stability and hope for the community.
