As we reported earlier, at the end of 2025, Trostyanets’ residents received a valuable and socially important gift from our hromada’s international partners in Bern. These are six comfortable Swiss buses for municipal transport.
The first three buses arrived in Trostyanets in the last days of December, and yesterday, 2 March, three more buses from Switzerland arrived in Trostyanets under their own power, covering a distance of almost 2,700 km. These are three Volvo buses and three Mercedes-Benz buses. In addition, the donors provided a huge number of spare parts for these vehicles!
As last time, the buses from Switzerland to Trostyanets were accompanied by Mayor Yuriy Bova.

It is well known that Switzerland has supported Ukraine and its people since the beginning of the full-scale war. Therefore, mayor Yuriy Bova’s request to provide to Trostyanets city hromada with vehicles was considered by the Bern City Council and approved: the transport company BERNMOBIL decided to provide Trostyanets with six comfortable buses.
All of them are in good technical condition, with a spacious interior and comfortable seats. In addition, these buses are adapted for transporting people with disabilities.
On behalf of all Trostyanets’ residents of our hromada, mayor Yuriy Bova expresses his gratitude to all friends and partners of Trostyanets community involved in this good cause: City Council of Bern, the municipal transport company BERNMOBIL, the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, and the organisation USB Ukraine Schweiz Bern (headed by Olena Krylova).
Huge thanks to the Universitätsklinik Balgrist University Hospital, Interkantonale Hochschule für Heilpädagogik Intercantonal University of Special Education (HfH); 87-year-old Swiss volunteer Klaus-Hennrich Russius for collecting and donating rehabilitation equipment (crutches) for immobile residents of Trostyanets, Olena Chernezhenko for her help in resolving organisational issues, and Oleksandr Radchenko for providing a generator!
Friends, thank you sincerely for your kindness, compassion, and humanity!
Thank you for your faith.
