The war in Ukraine is known in most countries of the world, people of different nationalities, professions, and religions sincerely sympathize with Ukrainians and have a great desire to help.
Residents of the small tourist city of Kilkenny (Ireland) were moved by the problems of Ukrainians, having learned about the terrible destruction, irreversible human and material losses. Local entrepreneurs and rescuers were the first to respond. The organization of assistance was taken into their own hands by Margarita Malina, a Ukrainian volunteer in Ireland.
The Kilkenny City Fire Department, headed by Ray Regan, decided to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine through reputable entrepreneurs – brothers Jon and Rory Dennehy.
Humanitarian cargo from Ireland, including rescue and emergency vehicles equipped with all the necessary equipment, was initially delivered to Poland.
In Krakow, Mayor Yuriy Bova met with the Irish delegation, where they discussed issues related to helping our community and possible further cooperation.
And as for the redirection of rescue vehicles to our Trostyanets city hromada, volunteer coordinator Maksym Koronenko (Lviv) and volunteer Ivan Sisterov (Kharkiv) are directly involved.
Maksym Koronenko said: “The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchynov, with whom I consulted, pointed out to me the city of Trostyanets as a city that needs help, because it survived a thirty-day occupation, was looted by russian occupiers and partially destroyed. Having met with Trostyanets Mayor Yuriy Bova, we resolved all issues related to documentation and transportation.”.
We are confident that the rescue vehicles from Ireland will serve the benefit of the Trostyanets community, will help save people’s lives, because the war continues and the danger has not disappeared anywhere.
Mayor Yuriy Bova, on behalf of the entire Trostyanets city hromada, expresses sincere gratitude to all caring citizens of the Irish city of Kilkenny, Ukrainian volunteers, and the campaign to collect humanitarian aid from Safe Harbor for Ukraine.
