On the eve of the second anniversary of the liberation of Trostyanets from russian occupation, Trostyanets City Mayor Yuriy Bova visited the city of Horishni Plavni, where one of the enterprises of the Ferrexpo company is located – Poltava Mining and Processing Plant, to thank the management of this company for the largest amount of assistance, which made it possible to quickly restore life in the community. The head of the Trostyanets community met with the Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Poltava Mining and Processing Plant” Viktor Lotous, to whom he conveyed our community’s gratitude for the important support and invaluable assistance in difficult times.
Ferrexpo was one of the first to respond to the request for assistance after the de-occupation of the city. During April-July 2022, they provided the Trostyanets community with extra-large support in the amount of over 16 million hryvnias. These include two Ataman buses, which were the first to go on the route after the de-occupation, and an excavator, which was used to repair broken communications and fill huge craters from shells, three repair vehicles for utility workers, uniforms and tools. In addition, through the Poltava Mining and Quarrying Complex Charity Fund — Ferrexpo Charity Fund, a large amount of office equipment, computers, laptops, printers were transferred to Trostyanets to restore the work of community institutions, as well as video cameras to help maintain public order.
During the meeting, the head of the Trostyanets city community presented the badge “For Merit to the Trostyanets Community of the 1st degree” to the General Director of LLC “Bilanivskyi GZK” Yuriy Khymych, who took a direct part in establishing contacts between the Ferrexpo company and the Trostyanets City Council, and invested a lot of effort in organizing and providing us with this assistance.

Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Poltava GZK” Viktor Lotous noted:
We are extremely glad that our assistance was timely and allowed us to restart the life of the city after the hostilities, looting and destruction of municipal property and equipment. We are grateful to you for coming, for your story about how the community is being restored with the help of equipment provided by our charitable foundation. I believe that we will continue our cooperation, I hope for long-term support in the direction of rebuilding the community, because we understand that today Sumy region is our northern outpost. The main thing is that the enemy never comes to you again, and we will always help with recovery.
In addition, during the visit, Trostyanets City Mayor Yuriy Bova met with the Mayor of Horishni Plavni Dmytro Bykov, with whom they toured the city’s landmarks and shared their experience of management decisions in the field of self-government. The community heads had a unique chance to learn about innovative approaches and solutions that were successfully applied in another community and adapt them to their own needs.
