Trostyanets city, Sumy region, is located 50 km from the border with Russia. For more than 30 days, the settlement was occupied by Russian troops. During this time, a significant part of the infrastructure was destroyed: a completely destroyed bus and railway station, enterprises and institutions, a hospital, all shops and pharmacies, administrative buildings, hundreds of private houses. The Russian military destroyed and stole all ambulances, as well as municipal transport.
The mayor of Trostyanets, Yuriy Bova, turned to Ferrexpo with a request to provide humanitarian assistance to ensure the livelihoods of the population in the Trostyanets urban territorial community. The company joined in solving the transport issue: it purchased and delivered a new ATAMAN A092N6 bus worth over 2.5 million hryvnias to the city of Trostyanets.

According to Yuri Khymych, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Programs at Ferrexpo in Ukraine, helping the population is currently a priority for the Company.
“Ferrexpo’s management directs its humanitarian initiatives to meet the urgent needs of our citizens. Trostyanka is in dire need of municipal equipment and transport. The bus transferred to the city will help ease the transportation situation,” he added.
Ferrexpo, which is among the TOP-3 global exporters of high-quality iron ore pellets with production facilities in Ukraine, has created a Special Humanitarian Fund that studies the needs of communities and promptly organizes their provision.
