The keys to the new cars were handed over to representatives of the Sumy, Trostyanets and Romny municipalities by the United Nations Development Programme analyst for social services development Natalya Belyukina and the head of the Sumy regional military administration Volodymyr Artyukh.

According to the head of the region, with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, the Sumy region received the first three cars with special equipment in May of this year, including 1 car for assessing damage and 2 cars for providing social (socio-psychological) services.

Yesterday, Trostyanets city hromada also received special transport as part of the pilot, as it is implementing a project to create “mobile social services” for home care, palliative care and in-kind assistance.

The “Mobile Social Services” car has special equipment for providing social services to the population with limited mobility and residents of remote areas. Such a car is both a means of quick access for service users and a mobile office equipped with tools to meet various needs: tailoring, hairdressing, shoemaking, quick repairs, hygiene procedures, etc.

Thanks to the receipt of a new car, employees of social service providers will be able to provide social services in remote settlements of hromada.

“We are very grateful to our international colleagues, partners who support our community in this difficult time,” said Deputy Mayor of Trostyanets Olena Volkova. “I am confident that by using this vehicle, our social workers will be able to more effectively provide the necessary services and assistance to people with disabilities, the elderly and vulnerable groups of the population, and expand the range of these services”.

United Nations Development Program analyst for the Development of Social Services Natalya Belyukina noted that Sumy Region is one of the leaders among the regions in financial assistance.

“I want to wish that social assistance in the Sumy region will reach every person who needs it, no matter in which remote settlement they live. I hope that this is not our last joint festive event. After all, we have big plans for your region. We plan to continue our support for more than one year so that each community can meet state standards for the provision of social services and have all the necessary resources for this“.

Municipal web-portal "Global Trostyanets" of Trostyanets city hromada was founded in May 2026 as a quick response and gratitude to all our international partners who helped our hromada survive after the occupation in 2022 and develop today. To some extent, this is a unique web resource, which has no analogues in Ukraine.

Trostyanets is becoming an example of high-quality reconstruction and resilience. Financial support from the state and international partners has given us the chance to restore the housing stock, equip premises for the accommodation of displaced persons, create modern medical institutions, launch the educational process, revive and develop the municipal sphere.

Today we have already demonstrated that restoration is not only about rebuilding buildings. It is the path to a qualitatively new level of life for municipality! We have become an example for the country and a convincing signal for foreign donors: aid brings tangible changes.
